SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Each year at 8th Grade Graduation, our students are awarded certificates of recognition from local service organizations, school clubs and individuals who express their belief in Catholic Education and, in particular, St. Mary School. Most of them have a monetary gift attached ranging from $100-$500. If you or your organization would be interested in establishing a scholarship for a graduating 8th grader, contact Vicki Campanella in the Development Office (842.8425) for more information. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! St. Mary Men’s Club, the students, faculty, and staff extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of our parish friends for their support of our May 2nd Spaghetti Dinner. 5th Grader Alyssa Castro was the school’s top seller with sales of $1,612. Though final numbers are not yet available, gross sales following the dinner were $19,000. Our dinners come together thanks to the work of many, led by Men’s Club President John Doyle, Dinner Chair Mike DiPietro and Sauce Chair Bob Filice. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the After School Sports Program and the SMS Endowment Fund. GILROY ASSISTANCE LEAGUE AWARDS GRANT TO SMS At a recent Awards Luncheon the school was given a $650 grant to paint a 12’x24’ color map of the United States on the school playground. Over the years, the school has received funding for Literature Circles and a video Spanish program for the classrooms from GALS. The group’s major fundraiser for these grants is the Home and Garden Tour, May 16 and 17, featuring the homes of Eagle Ridge. The event features a Wine Bar, hors d’oeuvres and a Décor Boutique. Tickets are $25 and may be obtained by calling 408.848.5106. |
